Jim Tolson MSP at Dunfermline Abbey
Born and bred in Fife, Jim lives in Dunfermline with his wife, Alison.
Jim started his career at Rosyth Dockyard and spent a total of 19 years working at as a mechanical fitter on submarines and ships. After working at the dockyard, Jim went on to Lauder College and then Napier University where he graduated with an honours degree in Computer Networking.
Jim was a councillor for the Garvock area of Dunfermline for 15 years before being elected as the MSP for Dunfermline West in 2007.
Jim has a keen interest in motoring and both he and his wife Alison are keen gardeners. Jim has also helped raise money for a Leukaemia charity by running the Dunfermline Half Marathon and abseiling down the Wallace Monument.
In Holyrood Jim was the Liberal Democrats Deputy Spokesperson on Local Government and Transport from 2008-2011.
