Defence Minister praises work of Fife Veterans Association

January 13, 2009 3:00 PM

Speaking yesterday in the House of Commons, MP for Dunfermline and West Fife Willie Rennie praised the work of the Fife Veterans Association for their efforts to promote veterans affairs across the Kingdom.

Fife Veteran's Association is a group of ex-service men and women based in Dunfermline who help veterans integrate into society by providing support for many of the recurring problems faced by service men and women returning to civilian life.

Commenting Mr Rennie said:

"Organisations such as the Fife Veterans Association provide ex-service men and women with the vital support needed to tackle the mental and practical demands of returning from a conflict zone.

"The association has an exemplary record for supporting retired service men and women and does a fantastic job promoting veterans affairs and providing practical assistance to veterans across the whole of Fife.

"It's important that the Government acknowledges the hard work of the Fife Veterans Association and continues to support them and their efforts to ensure that veterans from the Kingdom are successfully integrated into society."
