Dunfermline and West Fife MP Willie Rennie has tabled a parliamentary motion congratulating ScotAsh, a company based at Longannet power station in his constituency on receiving a second Queen's Award for Enterprise in three years.
ScotAsh was given the award by Her Majesty the Queen on the recommendation of the Prime Minister for producing sustainable materials such as blended cements and grouts from power station ash. Mr Rennie has previously urged other businesses in Fife to invest in these environmentally sustainable materials in future in a similar way to help combat the challenge of climate change.
Willie Rennie said:
"The work ScotAsh has done in producing these environmentally sustainable materials is really impressive and the more companies that use the materials, the bigger the impact we can have in helping the environment.
"The challenge facing us in preventing climate change is massive, it is going to take a concerted effort on the part of all of us if we are to begin to reverse global warming."
