Dunfermline and West Fife MP Willie Rennie has written to Prime Minister Gordon Brown to join the campaign to save a Cowdenbeath post office from closure.
Dalbeath Crescent Post Office in Cowdenbeath - a town which is split by Westminster constituencies meaning both MPs represent parts of it in Westminster - has been selected for closure under the Labour Government's plans to close 2,500 across the UK.
Willie Rennie MP commented:
"Without a doubt some of Gordon Brown's own constituents will use the Dalbeath Post Office. I am sure he will understand the importance of this post office to the community.
"Post Offices provide valuable services and facilities for local residents and particularly for those who find it difficult to get to other branches.
"I am determined to fight all the planned closures of post offices in my constituency and I urge Gordon Brown to back me in this campaign and help save the Dalbeath Post Office."
