Dunfermline and West Fife MP Willie Rennie used Defence Questions in the House of Commons yesterday to continue to press the issue of the main contracts for the construction of the giant aircraft carriers, part of which is due to take place at Rosyth dockyard in Mr Rennie's constituency.
The Secretary of State for Defence repeated his assertion that the construction of the carriers remains on course and the in-service date remains the same, adding that the contracts would be issued "at the appropriate time".
Willie Rennie said:
"Yet another month has dragged past without the main contracts being issued, how long is this going to last? It is about time the Government put minds to rest and issued the contracts."
