Rennie invites opponents to test their wits against Lib Dems in by-election celebratory quiz night

January 16, 2008 4:06 PM

Dunfermline and West Fife MP Willie Rennie, who is about to celebrate two years since his spectacular by-election win, has issued an open invitation to his opponents to test their wits against the party in a special quiz night to mark the win. The event will be held in the appropriately-named Rennie Suite at Dunfermline Athletic's East End Park stadium.

Willie was elected in February 2006 in a by-election and overhauled a huge Labour majority to win by 1800 votes.

Willie Rennie said:

"The two years since that amazing victory have flown by, and I have enjoyed every minute! I would be delighted to see as many people as possible at our quiz night to celebrate the occasion. Tickets are available from my office on 841700.

"Everyone is welcome, even if they are not members or supporters of the Lib Dems. In fact I would be delighted if members of the Conservatives, Labour and SNP were able to be with us so we can test our wits against each other in a non-election environment."

The Celebratory Quiz Night takes place on Saturday 9th February between 7.30pm and 10.30pm in the Rennie Suite at East End Park.
