Scottish Liberal Democrat MSP for Dunfermline West, Jim Tolson, has welcomed news that work on a new crossing to replace the Forth Road Bridge could begin in 2016. The Transport Minister confirmed the projected start date, but revealed that a location and form for the new crossing had yet to be decided.
Commenting, Mr Tolson said:
"This is excellent news for my constituents who have been increasingly concerned about the future of the current Forth crossing.
"I urge the Executive to ensure that any replacement crossing includes special provision for public transport priorities and provides the best overall value for money for the Scottish taxpayer."
