TOLSON DEMANDS ANSWERS ABOUT PPP PROJECTS

Scottish Liberal Democrat Communities spokesperson Jim Tolson MSP has reacted to the response given to him by the Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Sustainable Growth on the future of capital projects across Scotland.
During today's meeting of the Communities and Local Government Committee, the Cabinet Secretary, under cross examination from Mr Tolson, failed to give any assurances that signed off PPP projects would go ahead.
Commenting, Mr Tolson said:
"This is an outrageous position for the government to take. Despite previous assurances that they would not tamper with existing PPP contracts, the Cabinet Secretary refused to give the committee any assurances today.
"The Executive must clarify their plans and publish a clear statement of intent immediately.
"They are playing politics with school and hospital building programmes all over the country"
