The Scottish Liberal Democrats have unveiled radical proposals to cut the amount of time which NHS patients have to wait for a diagnosis by dramatically increasing the amount of diagnostic testing undertaken by community health centre's and GP's practices
Commenting on the new proposal Jim Tolson, Candidate for Dunfermline and West Fife said:
"We are committed to more community healthcare, so we can treat more people, more quickly, more appropriately closer to home.
"We want Scotland to benefit from 100 new community health centres to keep healthcare personal and local and cut the whole patient journey. That includes new Hospital Hill and Rosyth Health Centres.
"Under these plans patients will benefit from a wider range of services under the same roof near to where they live.
"We want patients to be able to have diagnostic tests close to where they live. In addition to cutting overall waiting times, this would reduce the burden on our hospitals."
