It has emerged that an interim report received by Ministers has found that a new road crossing is required over the Firth of Forth. Willie Rennie, the MP for Dunfermline and West Fife has been calling for a decision on a new crossing, and has been consulting with local business owners in recent weeks.
Reacting to the news, Willie Rennie said:
"It's vital that we now move quickly on a new crossing. From my discussions with the Transport Minister, including when I took a group of senior Fife businesspeople to see him, I have always been convinced of his determination to move swiftly.
"He knows how vital this crossing is to not just the economy of Fife but also the whole of Scotland. Following this crucial report I am keen to see substantial progress."
