Customers of the Christmas hamper saving scheme Farepak who lost out on hundreds of pounds worth of goods coming in to this festive season are being urged by local MP Willie Rennie and the Credit Union to get in contact for advice and guidance, and to provide evidence of individual cases.
Thousands of people have been left desperately out of pocket by the Farepak fiasco, and the Farepak Response Fund aims to bring some solace to those people this Christmas. Willie Rennie met with the local Credit Union last week in Rosyth to discuss the Farepak issue and to establish ways in which those who are out of pocket can get assistance. The deadline for donations to the Farepak Response Fund will close this evening and many people locally have donated, including Willie himself.
Willie Rennie said:
"The collapse of Farepak has hit so many people so very hard, and the Credit Union and the Response Fund are looking to provide some relief to those hit hardest. HBOS and Farepak need to answer some serious questions on this issue.
"We need evidence from individual cases from local people to get an appreciation of the situation. I would urge people to get in contact with either myself or the Credit Union so that we are able to assist with anyone who is struggling to make ends meet this Christmas."
