Rennie attends Westminster Farepak meeting

November 23, 2006 12:43 PM

There's only one week left until the Farepak Response Fund closes for donations. Local MP Willie Rennie is urging local people to donate to the fund before Wednesday 29th November so that local families affected by the company collapse can enjoy Christmas. The MP was speaking after a parliamentary meeting, designed to update MPs on the Farepak debacle.

Many people in the Dunfermline and West Fife area have suffered as a result of the collapse of Farepak. Willie Rennie will also be meeting tomorrow with the volunteers from the Credit Union, to discuss the Farepak matter.

After the meeting, Willie Rennie said:

"I have heard from many of my constituents who have suffered a great deal after Farepak ceased trading. It is important that I am kept up to date on all developments in this case, which is why I have attended the meeting today.

"I urge local people to join me in making a donation to the Farepak Response Fund.

"I am also looking forward to meeting with the Credit Union tomorrow, who have experience in this area and will be able to update me further."
