This weekend the Dunfermline Liberal Democrats will be launching their Green Tax Switch campaign. This is aimed at promoting the party's proposals for switching to green taxes, while reducing income tax for many constituents at the same time.
Local MP Willie Rennie has said:
"The environment has always been at the heart of liberal Democrat policy-making, which is why every chapter of the party's last General Election manifesto contained a Green Action section, in contrast to Labour and the Conservatives.
"The Liberal Democrat proposals would mean that income tax would be cut by £1,000 for the average family, with plans to switch to green taxes instead.
"This means that the more people switch to greener living, the more of the tax cut they keep for themselves."
Willie Rennie will also be visiting 'Woodlands in West Fife' this Saturday. The initiative, run by the charity Scottish Native Woods aims to restore the ancient woodland site close to Culross and Devilla Forest.
About the initiative Willie said:
"The woodlands around my constituency are extremely beautiful and environmentally very important. The Woodlands in West Fife initiative to restore them is fantastic and I am delighted to be able to be a part of this."
