New MP pleased with tolls freeze
Following his campaign against the huge increases in tolls on the Forth Road Bridge, Dunfermline and West Fife's new MP has welcomed the decision by the Transport Minister to reject the proposal from the Labour controlled bridge board.
"Like me local people in Dunfermline and West Fife were outraged by these proposed huge increases. I was disappointed that the discredited Labour controlled bridge board did not agree to withdraw the proposals following the dramatic Liberal Democrat by-election win. What we need now is a sensible transport strategy for this major artery. This must include reliable public transport alternatives for commuters who are currently forced to use their car to get to workplaces outside Edinburgh City Centre."
